Flourless Almond Butter Brownies
These almond butter brownies are decadent and fudgy, with swirls of almond butter throughout. They are naturally gluten free, and made with dark chocolate and cocoa powder for that extra chocolatey flavor!
I am always looking for a way to spruce up a brownie recipe. These brownies are extra fudgy and rich thanks to the addition of almond flour. If you’re looking for a nut free version, you’ll love these Classic Fudge Brownie or if you prefer a cakey brownie try this Turtle Brownie Skillet. There is also these White Chocolate Pistachio Brownie Cookies, if you like your brownies in cookie form!
How to make these brownies
Melt the chocolate and butter together over a double boiler.
Sift the dry ingredients together, and fold into the melted chocolate.
Spread batter into a greased pan.
Spoon the almond butter onto the batter, and with a skewer or knife, swirl the almond butter through the batter.
Bake and enjoy!
Tips on making this recipe perfectly
Use a high quality dark chocolate if available. Chocolate is one of those ingredients that makes a big difference in a recipe when it’s a better quality. I love brands like Valrhona and Cocoa Barry if you really want to go all out, but my go to is Trader Joes, or Whole Foods brand of chocolate chunks. The price can’t be beat and they are super fluid when they melt (which means they contain more cocoa butter!).
Use almond flour not almond meal for a smoother brownie texture.
If you don’t have any almond butter on hand, you can always use peanut butter for swirling or any other nut butter that you prefer.
Let the brownies cool before cutting, I even throw them in the fridge for about 30 minutes or so before I cut them. These brownies are extra fudgy and they will fall apart if they are cut while they are still hot.
