Fluffernutter Chocolate Chunk Blondies

These Fluffernutter Chocolate Chunk Blondies are easy to make and come together in 30 minutes. They are soft and chewy, and loaded with marshmallow, peanut butter, and chunks of chocolate.

How are blondies different from brownies?

Blondies are often referred to as a chocolate free or vanilla brownie. Where brownies are usually made with granulated sugar, blondies use brown sugar, which lends to its softness, chewiness, and molasses flavor.

These blondies taste like a soft and chewy cookie, with swirls of gooey peanut butter and marshmallow throughout. They are the dessert version of a fluffernutter sandwich!

Ingredients you will need to make this recipe

  • Flour - all purpose flour works best for these blondies

  • Brown sugar - light or dark brown sugar can both be used

  • Butter - always use unsalted unless stated otherwise, different brands contain different amounts of salt. Unsalted is best for most baking.

  • Baking Soda - to help the blondies rise

  • Salt - to help balance the flavors

  • Egg - to bind everything together and also assist in helping the blondies rise

  • Peanut Butter - be sure to use the runny kind for best results. I like to use any brand of peanut butter that is just peanuts and salt

  • Marshmallow Creme - any brand of marshmallow creme or fluff works best. Regular marshmallows will not work in this specific recipe

  • Chocolate Chunks - Semi sweet or dark chocolate is best, you could also use chocolate chips or a bar of chopped chocolate. Trader Joes and Whole Foods both make great chocolate chunks, that give you those gooey puddles of melted chocolate

Tips on making this recipe perfectly

  • Line the pan with parchment paper, this will make it easy to remove the blondies from the pan without sticking or breaking.

  • Use a natural peanut butter that has a runny texture. The firmer the peanut butter the more difficult it will be to swirl through the blondies.

  • Use marshmallow fluff or creme, regular marshmallows will not melt the same in the blondies.

  • To test the blondies for doneness, the skewer should come out mostly clean with just a few crumbs.

  • When cutting the blondies, let them cool first, this way they will cut cleaner and won’t fall apart.
